The Beginning

Hello everyone!
As I kick off this journey, I think it’s only fitting to share a bit more about myself—beyond what’s in the “About Me” section.

I’ve always had a passion for electricity, and naturally, electronics followed right along with it. I remember playing Commander Keen on a pre-Windows 3.1 machine as a kid. Then came Wolfenstein 3D—it even gave my brother nightmares! Looking back at those games now, it’s hard to believe they had that effect.

As I got older, I started tinkering with tech from the ’90s. It still amazes me how far things have come—CRT TVs, VHS tapes, CDs… just look at the evolution!

After leaving the service, I dove headfirst into transforming my home into a smart home. Along the way, I hit plenty of roadblocks—devices that required hubs, incompatible products, subpar quality, countless apps, network limitations—it felt like drinking from a firehose. And the more I added, the worse it got!

But eventually, I had a breakthrough: it doesn’t matter which devices you use—what matters is integration and infrastructure. The right router to support your system is absolutely essential.

At the time of this writing, I have over 288 devices online in my home—and that’s not even everything! Sure, there’s troubleshooting involved, but it’s all achievable.
